Woodside Leads All 51

IRWINDALE, Calif. — Sean Woodside survived a green-white-checkered finish to lead all 51 laps of Saturday night’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series late-model feature at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.

Woodside, the 1999 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West champion, started his Chevrolet from the pole and was strong throughout the event, which saw five yellow flags for 23 laps on the half-mile oval.

Former Toyota Speedway track champion Nick Joanides challenged Woodside during the final two-lap shootout, but finished second. Brandon Davis, Travis Irving and Matthew Hicks rounded out the top five in the 25-car field. (see video)
